The candidate must satisfy all prescribed educational, technical, language, age, nationality and service-suitability conditions.
Education
Degree in Arts, Science, Commerce or Law from a university in India established or incorporated by or under a Central Act, Provincial Act or State Act, or from an institution recognized by the University Grants Commission, or any other equivalent degree. The educational and other requisite qualifications must be possessed as on the date of publication of the notification, 18 September 2026.
Age
The candidate must have completed 18 years and must not have completed 44 years of age on 1 September 2026. Maximum-age relaxations apply to specified categories under Telangana rules.
Nationality
Citizen of India.
Language
Adequate knowledge of the language or languages of the district in which the candidate is to be appointed.
Computer knowledge
Knowledge or qualification in computer operation. Requirement must be satisfied as on 18 September 2026.
Certification
- Government Technical Examination in English Shorthand at 120 words per minute. If a candidate with English Shorthand Higher Grade is not available, English Shorthand Lower Grade will be considered. Qualification must be held as on 18 September 2026.
- Government Technical Examination in Typewriting in Higher Grade in English at 45 words per minute. If Higher Grade in English is not available, Typewriting Lower Grade in English will be considered. Qualification must be held as on 18 September 2026.
Medical fitness
Candidate must be of sound health and active habits and free from bodily defects or infirmities rendering the candidate unfit for service.
Other
Character and antecedents must be suitable for service.

Application scrutiny
Applications are scrutinized and applications not found in order are rejected. Applications found in order are accepted for the OMR-based examination.

OMR-based written examination
Objective examination for 40 marks consisting of 20 marks General Knowledge and 20 marks General English. Duration is 45 minutes and there is no negative marking.

Stenography Skill Test
Candidates shortlisted from the OMR examination receive five minutes of English dictation at 120 words per minute and must transcribe it on a computer within 40 minutes. The test carries 40 marks.

Certificate verification
Candidates qualifying in the examination are shortlisted in a 1:3 ratio against notified or available vacancies for certificate verification before the oral interview.

Oral Interview / Viva-Voce
Eligible candidates after certificate verification are called for oral interview or viva-voce carrying 20 marks. The interview date will be notified on the official website.
