PhD in an appropriate branch, with first class or equivalent in the preceding degree. No numeric first-class threshold is specified.
Experience
Industrial, research or teaching experience. Exclude experience gained while pursuing the PhD. Part-time, daily-wage and similar experience is not counted for interview shortlisting.
Other
Very good academic record throughout.

Screening and shortlisting
A duly constituted Screening Committee applies Institute-defined criteria. Meeting the minimum qualification and experience requirements does not guarantee a seminar or interview call.

Seminar presentation, if called
The notification refers to seminar presentation at the Institute and/or interview for candidates called after screening. It does not require a seminar for every candidate.

Interview calls are sent to the applicant's email address. Candidates called must furnish the current employer's NOC where applicable.

Eligibility notes
Applicants must be Indian citizens or OCI. Essential qualifications and other conditions must be fulfilled before the advertisement date, 30 September 2026, using the source's wording. Experience during the PhD and experience on part-time or daily-wage terms are excluded from qualifying experience.
