Either an awarded Ph.D. or submitted Ph.D. thesis awaiting award is acceptable.
Alternative 1 of 2. Ph.D. degree in any area of Science with skills relevant to the project One of two accepted Ph.D. status pathways.
Alternative 2 of 2. Ph.D. thesis submitted and award of Ph.D. degree awaited Candidate may apply if the thesis has been submitted and the Ph.D. award is awaited. For the lower fellowship rate, a letter from the competent authority must confirm that thesis submission is complete and the final viva or defense is pending.

Candidates should provide evidence of high-quality research conducted during or after the Ph.D. program.

Salary & benefits
Research Associate-1
₹58,000
per month
Applicable when the candidate produces the Ph.D. Certificate. An additional 9% HRA is payable.
₹42,000
per month
Eligibility for ₹42,000 rate
Applicable to candidates whose Ph.D. degree is awaited. Candidate must produce a letter from the competent authority stating that the thesis has been submitted and the final viva or defense is pending. An additional 9% HRA is payable.

Selection summary
Candidates appear for a walk-in interview. If the response is large, the Screening Committee may recommend restricting the number of candidates called for interview based on qualifications and experience above the prescribed minimum. No TA/DA is admissible for the interview.
Eligibility notes
Applications are invited from Indian nationals. Candidates must possess qualifications from recognized Universities or Institutions and any required experience as on the closing date for submission of application. Candidates awaiting results of the final examination for the prescribed educational qualification are not eligible, except that candidates who have already submitted their Ph.D. thesis and are awaiting award of the Ph.D. may apply under the specific Research Associate eligibility provision.

The appointment is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The initial offer is for 6 months and may be renewed subject to satisfactory performance. The number of posts may increase or decrease according to Institute requirements.
