IIT Roorkee invites Indian nationals for one Research Associate-I project position in the Department of Hydrology under a research project on climate-change impacts on water resources in the Sone River basin.

Education
- Ph.D. in Hydrology, Water Resources Engineering, Civil Engineering or Agricultural Engineering.
- Engineering background at Master's level, M.Tech or M.E.
Experience
Experience in writing papers, patents, technical reports and related outputs.
Nationality
Indian national
Computer knowledge
Strong programming skills in R, Python or MATLAB. The advertisement states that this is mandatory.
Skill
- Knowledge of large-data handling involving satellite data, hydro-meteorological data and climate data, with working knowledge of GIS, multispectral remote sensing, data processing and analysis.
- Sound knowledge of hydrological models such as SWAT, VIC and WEAP.
- Sound knowledge of handling big data, APIs, Google Earth Engine and machine-learning algorithms.
Academic record
At least one published journal paper on the relevant topic in a Q1 journal. The advertisement states that this publication requirement is mandatory.
Other
Readiness to carry out extensive fieldwork for hydro-meteorological data collection, field surveys and related activities.
Preference Condition
Preference will be given to SC/ST candidates when qualifications and experience are equal.(Preferred)
Salary & benefits
₹58,000
per month
