Essential Eligibility

Candidate must satisfy one Master's Degree pathway, the translation diploma requirement and the post-qualification experience requirement.

Education

Full-time Diploma in Translation of minimum one-year duration from a Government-recognized University or Institute

Experience

Minimum five years of post-qualification experience in translation from English to Hindi and Hindi to English Experience in Government, Semi-Government, Railway organizations, PSUs or Autonomous Bodies is preferred. Teaching, training, consultancy and freelancing are not treated as relevant experience.

Master's Degree Pathway

Alternative 1 of 2. Full-time Master's Degree in Hindi from a recognized University with English as a subject at degree level One accepted Master's Degree pathway.
Alternative 2 of 2. Full-time Master's Degree in English from a recognized University with Hindi as a subject at degree level Alternative Master's Degree pathway.

Eligibility notes

As on 1 September 2026, candidates must possess the prescribed Master's Degree pathway, a minimum one-year full-time Diploma in Translation, and at least five years of post-qualification translation experience from English to Hindi and Hindi to English. The maximum age is 37 years as on 1 September 2026, with applicable relaxations.

Important notes

Candidates must be in sound health and no relaxation in medical standards will be allowed. Selected candidates must execute a surety bond of Rs. 3 lakh to serve IRCON for at least three years. Candidates unable to join within three months from the date of issue of the posting letter should not apply. Only candidates currently working as on the cutoff date will be considered if they satisfy the prescribed qualification and post-qualification experience.
