Selection process

  1. 1

    Application scrutiny

Scrutiny of online applications and uploaded sports certificates. Candidates whose applications are in order receive online admit cards from the Nodal Office.

  2. 2

    Documentation and sports achievement assessment

Identity verification and biometric capture precede original-document checks. Submit self-attested copies on the spot; originals are returned. Only the highest-scoring medal or participation level counts. Minimum qualifying sports achievement score is 10 for UR/SC/ST/OBC. Missing prescribed documents cause rejection; doubtful documents may be provisionally accepted pending verification.

  3. 3

    Physical Standard Test

Measure male height, chest and weight; female height and weight, with female staff present. Underweight/overweight candidates proceed with actual weight and deviation recorded; final weight fitness is decided at DME. Prescribed community certificates are required for height/chest relaxation.

  4. 4

    Sports Trial Test

Qualifying trial in the relevant sports event, maximum 40 marks and minimum 20. Trial marks do not count in final merit. Exempt for candidates who represented India in an international event as Indian Squad members with Department of Youth Affairs & Sports clearance. Failure results in a rejection slip; no appeal for another trial.

  5. 5

    Merit assessment and DME shortlisting

Prepare discipline-wise merit from paragraph 4(c)(ii) achievement scores after PST and trial. Higher marks rank first. For similar international achievements, higher national achievement breaks ties, followed by younger age and then English alphabetical order of names.

  6. 6

    Detailed Medical Examination

Assess shortlisted candidates under MHA U.O. No. A.VI-1/2014-Rectt(SSB), dated 20 May 2015, as amended, covering recruitment medical examination for GOs and NGOs in CAPFs and AR.

  7. 7

    Review Medical Examination

Available to candidates declared unfit in DME who sign Annexure VII consent within 24 hours of notice. Conducted in continuation of DME, preferably the next day. Board explains the appeal process. RME Board decision is final.
