Common TGT Guest Teacher Eligibility
Education
Four-year integrated Bachelor's degree with B.Ed. or regular B.Ed.
Age
Minimum age 21 years and maximum age 60 years. Retired teachers from State Government, KVS, NVS or EMRS schools may apply up to age 65. General age range is 21 to 60 years. Maximum age for eligible retired teachers is 65 years.
Exam qualification
CTET Paper-II for Classes VI-VIII conducted by CBSE is required. If CTET-qualified candidates are not available, STET-qualified candidates may be considered. STET is an alternative only if CTET-qualified candidates are unavailable.
Other
Applicant must be a local resident of Jharkhand.

Selection summary
A list of eligible candidates will be prepared from applications received. Selection will then be made through a Walk-in Interview / Skill Test by the constituted committee. The notice gives 12 October 2026 from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM as the tentative Walk-in Interview / Skill Test schedule.
Eligibility notes
Applicants must meet the prescribed TGT educational qualifications, age requirements and Jharkhand local-resident condition. Retired teachers from State Government, KVS, NVS or EMRS schools may also apply subject to the stated age limit for retired candidates.

Important notes
Guest Teachers are appointed temporarily until regular teachers assume charge and cannot claim regularization or regular appointment. Selected candidates must join within 10 days, otherwise a candidate from the waiting list may be selected. Performance will be evaluated and services may be terminated without prior notice for unsatisfactory work or violation of engagement conditions.
