Essential Eligibility
Education
Engineering graduate from a full-time regular course. UGC-recognized Indian university/deemed university or AICTE-approved autonomous Indian institution course/concerned statutory council, wherever applicable. No branch or minimum marks is specified.
Experience
At least five years of post-qualification experience in systems operations, maintenance, development, digital systems, IoT, electronics, cyber physical systems for SCADA, rail-based systems, safety systems etc. For combined government/private experience, government experience receives 100% weightage and private experience 80%, as of 24 September 2026. Teaching and freelancing experience do not qualify. Experience in a post/level counts from assumption of charge; deputation eligibility uses the substantive parent-organization grade.
Age
- Age strictly above 18 years. Do not interpret the denormalized minimum_age value as inclusive.
- Maximum general age 40 years as of 24 September 2026, subject to applicable concessions. Applicants must be above 18 years, with maximum age 40 as of 24 September 2026. Both vacancies are UR. SC/ST/OBC/EWS applicants against UR posts receive no age or qualifying-mark relaxation. PwBD age concession is expressly admissible irrespective of reservation. Conditional relaxation table: SC/ST 5 years, OBC-NCL 3 years, PwBD 10 years, eligible ex-servicemen 5 years, cumulative where admissible. NCRTC employees with at least one completed year of service as of the notification date receive relaxation equal to completed years of service. See detailed reservation conditions.

- Required skill sets: rail-based systems, operations and maintenance management, IoT, sensors, data science, AI/ML and other systems.
- Other-government pay-scale equivalence uses minimum basic pay, not maximum basic pay. Equal/higher minimum than the relevant NCRTC pay-scale minimum is equivalent; lower minimum is treated as lower, regardless of maximum.
CDA Scale Pathway
Working in CDA scale.
Accepted CDA Pay Alternatives
Alternative 1 of 2. Currently in Rs. 56,100-1,77,500 (L10) or Rs. 53,100-1,67,800 (L9), or above.
Alternative 2 of 2. Last three years of service in Rs. 47,600-1,51,100 (L8).
IDA Scale Pathway
Working in IDA scale.
Accepted IDA Pay Alternatives
Alternative 1 of 2. Currently in Rs. 50,000-1,60,000 (E2), or above.
Alternative 2 of 2. Last three years of service in Rs. 40,000-1,40,000 (E1).
Private-Sector Pathway
- Working in private sector.
- Minimum existing CTC Rs. 11.10 lakh per annum. Gross salary verification only through employer Form 16, ITR submitted to the Income Tax Department and last 12 months salary slips equivalent to required CTC as of eligibility date. This is not offered compensation.
