Education

- The PhD must not have been completed at the host institution where the fellowship is awarded. NIT Silchar is the host institution for this notification.
Age

Applicants currently in regular employment will not be considered. Scientists or researchers in temporary academic or research-institution positions may be considered but must relinquish their current roles if selected.

Prior fellowship
Applicants who have already availed the fellowship under this scheme are ineligible for support.

Postdoctoral Fellowship (PDF)

per month
Eligibility for ₹1,08,393 rate
Support for up to one year. During supported maternity leave, only fellowship is admissible. Total fellowship support cannot exceed 12 months.

Eligibility for ₹1,00,000 rate
Disbursed on a pro-rata basis, for example Rs. 25,000 per quarter. During maternity leave, only fellowship is admissible.

Shortlisting by the admission core committee
The admission core committee is responsible for selection and recommendation. It may set higher shortlisting criteria; meeting the minimum criteria does not guarantee an interview or admission.

Shortlisted candidates will be informed by email to attend the interview. The schedule is tentative. Candidates must bring original documents and one set of photocopies from the application checklist.
