B.tech Pathway

B.Tech in Systems and Control Engineering, Robotics and Automation, Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, or Electronics and Communication Engineering. One of the alternative essential qualification pathways.

M.tech Pathway

M.Tech in Systems and Control, Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, or Robotics and Automation. One of the alternative essential qualification pathways.

Common Eligibility Criteria

Education

GEN, GEN-EWS and OBC-NCL candidates require a minimum of 60% aggregate marks or 6.5 CGPA at both UG and PG; SC, ST and PwD candidates require a minimum of 55% aggregate marks or 6.0 CGPA at both UG and PG. The advertisement states the marks or CGPA condition as applying at both UG and PG levels.

Age

Age limit is 32 years. Upper-age relaxation of up to 5 years is available for SC, ST, OBC, Women and physically challenged candidates.

Preferred and Desired Qualifications

Exam qualification

GATE, CSIR-UGC NET, DBT or ICMR NET qualification. These qualifications are not mandatory, but candidates possessing any of them will be given preference.(Preferred)

Computer knowledge

Knowledge of MATLAB, LabVIEW and Python.(Desirable)

Skill

Strong foundation in mathematics.(Desirable)

Salary & benefits

₹37,000

per month

Applicable to candidates qualified in CSIR-UGC NET or GATE. HRA is additional as per Institute rules.

Candidates without CSIR-UGC NET or GATE will be considered for fellowship at the applicable lower rate as per prevailing norms.

Selection summary

Eligible candidates will be shortlisted for an interview that may be conducted online or offline. Final selection will be based on interview performance. The list of eligible candidates will be announced on the Institute website and candidates will also be informed by email or phone.

Eligibility notes

Applicants may qualify through a B.Tech in one of the specified engineering disciplines or an M.Tech in one of the specified disciplines. The notification also prescribes category-wise aggregate marks or CGPA criteria and gives preference to candidates qualified in GATE, CSIR-UGC NET, DBT or ICMR NET.

Important notes

The position is purely temporary. The project duration is three years or until closure of the project, whichever is earlier. Performance of the Research Fellow will be evaluated after 3 months. No TA or DA will be paid for attending the interview.
