NIT Warangal Department of Biotechnology invites applications for two Junior Research Fellow positions under a Ministry of Mines sponsored research project.

Junior Research Fellow6 disciplines

Engineering and Postgraduate Engineering Pathway

  • B.E./B.Tech. in Biotechnology, Industrial Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Biotech Engineering, Bioengineering, Biological Sciences and Bioengineering, Biosciences and Bioengineering, Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering, or Biochemical and Biotechnology Engineering.
  • M.E./M.Tech./M.S. by Research or two-year M.S. from abroad in Biotechnology, Industrial Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Biotech Engineering, Genetic Engineering, Biological Sciences and Bioengineering, Biosciences and Bioengineering, Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering, Biochemical and Biotechnology Engineering, or Environmental Engineering. For M.S. from abroad, only a two-year program is accepted.

UG and PG Marks or CGPA Criterion

GEN, GEN-EWS, and OBC-NCL candidates require a minimum of 60% aggregate marks or 6.5 CGPA at both UG and PG levels. SC, ST, and PwD candidates require a minimum of 55% aggregate marks or 6.0 CGPA at both UG and PG levels. Category-specific UG and PG performance requirement.

M.sc. and M.tech. Pathway

  • M.Sc. in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Botany, Zoology, Bioinformatics, or Life Sciences.
  • M.Tech. in Biotechnology or M.Tech. in Environmental Engineering.

Engineering or Technology Bachelor's Criterion

Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology require at least 7.5/10 CGPA or 70% marks for GEN, GEN-EWS, and OBC-NCL categories, and at least 7.0/10 CGPA or 65% marks for SC, ST, and PwD categories. Alternative academic performance criterion stated in the advertisement.

M.sc. Pathway

M.Sc. in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Botany, Zoology, Bioinformatics, or Life Sciences.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

Experience

Prior knowledge and hands-on experience in heavy metal analysis, extraction, microbial growth techniques, and Artificial Intelligence. Listed under desired qualifications.(Desirable)

Other

GATE, CSIR-UGC, DBT, or ICMR NET qualification. Candidates with these qualifications will be given preference.(Preferred)

Salary & benefits

₹37,000

per month

Monthly emoluments for the first two years. HRA is additionally applicable as per Institute rules.

Eligibility notes

Candidates must satisfy one of the stated educational qualification pathways and the applicable academic performance criteria. Candidates with GATE, CSIR-UGC, DBT, or ICMR NET qualification will be given preference.

The positions are purely temporary. The appointment is for two years or until closure of the project, whichever is earlier. Performance of the Research Fellow will be evaluated after three months. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
