Ph.D. in Food Technology or Food Process Technology
M.tech. and B.tech. Pathway
- M.Tech. in Food Technology, Food Process Technology, Food Process Engineering, Food Engineering, or Processing and Food Engineering from an ICAR-recognized University or Institution The institution must be ICAR-recognized.
- B.Tech. in Food Technology Required together with the prescribed M.Tech. qualification under the non-Ph.D. pathway.
Ph.d. Pathway
Ph.D. in Food Quality Assurance or Food Safety and Quality Assurance
Master's and B.tech. Pathway
- Master's degree in Food Quality Assurance, Food Safety and Quality Assurance, or Food Science and Nutrition from an ICAR-recognized University or Institution The institution must be ICAR-recognized.
- B.Tech. in Food Technology Required together with the prescribed Master's qualification under the non-Ph.D. pathway.

Ph.D. Preference will be given to candidates with Ph.D.(Preferred)
Exam qualification
National Eligibility Test (NET) qualified Preference will be given to candidates qualified in NET.(Preferred)
Other
Candidates possessing only B.Tech. or B.Sc. qualification need not attend This is an exclusion stated in the notification and does not override the detailed qualification pathways.
