Port Planning Expert (Team Leader/Project Manager)

Mandatory Qualifications and Experience

Education

Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering. Degree nomenclature may differ by country; RITES decides fulfilment from submitted documents.

Experience

  • Minimum 15 years of sector experience.
  • Minimum 15 years of similar-assignment experience, including firsthand port infrastructure planning and execution in a major container port.

Other

  • Civil engineer with chartered status or recognition from an internationally accepted civil engineering-related professional body.
  • Expert in port facility planning.
Port Related Logistics Expert2 disciplines

Mandatory Qualifications and Experience

Experience

  • Minimum 15 years managing and operating port-related logistics facilities.
  • Minimum five years of similar-assignment experience after 2015. The five-year experience must be after 2015.
  • At least five years of international logistics exposure in major foreign ports with a leading container Port Performance Index ranking, in a country with an LPI ranking less than 35. Expressly described as an added advantage; the remarks require the mentioned five years after 2015. Exact Port Performance Index threshold is not stated.(Preferred)

Other

Sufficient knowledge and experience in modern logistics trends and market strategies.

Alternative Logistics Qualifications

Master’s degree or postgraduate diploma in any of the four specified disciplines.

Transport Planner Expert2 disciplines

Mandatory Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum five years of sector experience.
  • At least three successfully completed projects of similar size. Similar size is illustrated using container-route volumes and Sri Lanka’s regional throughput share; no precise minimum project-volume threshold is stated.

Alternative Engineering Degrees

  • Alternative 1 of 2. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. Degree nomenclature may differ by country; RITES decides fulfilment from submitted documents.

Selection process

    Evaluation of EOI applications

    Examine required documents and application completeness; evaluate submitted information and any requested clarifications. RITES may assess capability and capacity. No separate issuing-source authentication is undertaken during evaluation.

    Empanelment and email communication

    Eligible applicants are empanelled and informed by email. Empanelment alone does not guarantee a job.

  3. 3

    Project-specific CV scrutiny

    Scrutinize empanelled experts’ CVs against the project RFP requirements for inclusion in the technical proposal.

  4. 4

    Willingness, remuneration negotiation and written consent

    Obtain willingness and availability, negotiate remuneration and secure written consent before submitting the project bid.

  5. 5

    Engagement following project award

    If RITES wins the project, engage the experts whose CVs were used in the bid.
