All candidates who successfully submit an online application are provisionally allowed to undergo document scrutiny and verification. Eligibility for the post is verified from uploaded and original supporting documents, and only eligible candidates may proceed to interview.
The mode of selection is interview only. Candidates are evaluated on technical skills, subject knowledge, experience, communication and interpersonal skills. RITES may shortlist eligible candidates, and final engagement is subject to client approval and project or company requirements.

Age, experience and all other eligibility criteria are reckoned as on 20 October 2026. Training, internship, teaching, academic, fellowship and PhD research experience are not counted as qualifying experience. The applicable education, experience, language and domain requirements differ by post.

The system generates a Registration Number which must be retained for future communication. Individual Consultants have independent consultant status and are not employees or officials of RITES Limited. Initial engagement is generally 12 months and may be extended based on requirements, performance and annual review, but no extension is permitted beyond age 65. The number of vacancies may vary. No TA or DA is payable for attending interview, joining the assignment or completing the assignment.
