Eligibility
Master's Degree
Common academic qualification stated for the advertised teaching positions.
Master's degree in Social Sciences, English, Science Education, Sociology of Education, Education Development and Policy, Foundations of Education or Psychology of Education from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university (minimum 55%) An equivalent grade in a point-scale is accepted where the grading system is followed.
NET, SLET, SET or Eligible Ph.d. Exemption Route
Eligibility A includes NET, SLET, SET or qualifying Ph.D. exemption under applicable UGC provisions.
Education
Ph.D. degree qualifying for exemption from NET, SLET or SET under the applicable UGC Regulations and conditions stated in the advertisement Candidates awarded Ph.D. under the applicable UGC 2009 or 2016 regulations and amendments may be exempt from NET, SLET or SET. Candidates registered before 11 July 2009 are subject to the detailed five conditions and certification requirements stated in the advertisement.
Exam qualification
Alternative 1 of 2. National Eligibility Test conducted by UGC or CSIR One pathway under Eligibility A.
Alternative 2 of 2. SLET or SET or another similar test accredited by UGC One pathway under Eligibility A.
Top-500 Foreign Ph.d. Route
Eligibility B applies to a Ph.D. from a foreign university or institution ranked in the top 500 by QS, THE or ARWU at any time.
Ph.D. degree from a foreign university or institution ranked among the top 500 at any time by QS, Times Higher Education or Academic Ranking of World Universities Alternative Eligibility B route.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
These criteria are desirable rather than mandatory.
Education
Ph.D. in Social Science, English, Education or allied subjects(Preferred)
Experience
- Teaching experience at university level(Preferred)
- Experience using quantitative and/or mixed-methods research(Preferred)
- Experience working in large-scale and multi-partner research projects(Preferred)
Skill
Ability to work in a fast-paced and highly demanding environment, work in diverse teams, be self-driven, lead a small research team, pay attention to detail, manage time and remain open to learning(Preferred)
